Moon Dubai's lunar surface, surrounded by a "lunar colony", is designed to accommodate 10 million visitors a year.
Given Dubai's eccentric nature, it's no surprise that it now aims to have its own moon. And while the idea isn't entirely far-fetched, this incredible proposal from Canadian architecture firm and intellectual property licensor Moon World Resorts Inc. (MWR) is still quite astonishing.
The project aims to be a tourist destination shaped and sized like the celestial body; it will have a total height of 224 meters, and is expected to attract 2.5 million visitors per month.
When built, Moon Dubai, which requires an investment of $5 billion, is expected to boost the Emirate's economy in sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, attractions, education, technology, the environment, and space tourism.

“MWR is currently planning a series of global touring presentations for 2023 that will showcase Moon to potential regional licensees. One of those shows will take place in the MENA region, possibly in Dubai, UAE, with other options including KSA, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait,” Henderson said.
He added: "Once the MENA single regional license has been consummated and the precise location has been chosen, a one-year pre-development program will commence, followed by a four-year construction program."
It is proposed that Moon Dubai operate under LEED Gold certification, a 5-star building standard and a 5-diamond resort operating standard.

It is also expected to have approximately 300 private residences , which will be named “Sky Villas” , and the best part is that they will be put up for sale and future owners will have access to a private club.
